The seat of Essendon is the tale of two cities – according to the state election results.
The election results for the seat of Essendon show significant variations across suburbs with the southern part of the electorate recording high number of Greens votes, and the central areas recording high numbers of Liberal votes.
Flemington and Buckley Park booths demonstrate the widest variation: the Liberal vote in Flemington (12%) is just under one quarter of the Liberal vote at Buckley Park (41%).
The Greens vote at Buckley Park (10%) is almost one third of the Greens vote in Flemington (28%).
The following is a summary of the primary votes for the booths in the electorates of Essendon and Niddrie for the three major parties. The primary votes for the independent and DLP candidates have not been shown.
