I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I work, and pay my respects to the Elders, past and present.

With the demise of Fairfax coverage of local government news, and very little coverage of Moonee Valley Council from other media outlets, it’s hard to find out about the decisions of our local Moonee Valley Council.
This blog will provide brief updates on Council decisions – particularly those that have a significant impact on residents.
Every effort will be made to remain independent and neutral – although occasionally views will be obvious!
By way of disclosure:
I was a former Moonee Valley Councillor (March 2007 – December 2010) and at the time represented The Greens. I worked for Adam Bandt, Federal Member for Melbourne, until 2013 when I resigned from The Greens.
I worked for Jennifer Kanis, state Labor Member for Melbourne, in 2014 and was a member of the ALP during this time.
I am no longer a member of any political party. I ran as an independent candidate at the 2016 local government elections for Myrnong Ward.
I am completing a PhD in Education at the University of Melbourne. I have a law degree and a Masters in Journalism.
