Australia is likely to go to the polls in a few months. Will Moonee Valley host Australia’s next Prime Minister, Bill Shorten? Just what will it take for the ALP to win the next federal election?
Tonight’s Council meeting agenda is brief – only six items and two confidential items.
I spent a day last week reading 180 of the 193 submissions, and collating the issues raised and the views presented. This is what I found.
There’s no Moonee Valley Council meeting tonight (the next meeting is on 12 September). So, instead, some thoughts on Council conduct – from me (why not!). Last week, the Central Goldfields Shire was sacked by the State Government. Councillors elected just last October have been dismissed until fresh elections in 2020. This dismissal followed a…
‘The blog’ will be slightly late to the MVCC meeting tonight at 6:30pm, but will catch up via the audio recordings. The Council will consider the submission to the Flemington Housing redevelopment – as well some planning and organisational matters. Sorry – I couldn’t get here until 6:45 and by that time the meeting had…

The hearings will go for seven days from 11 Sept through until 21 Sept. Planning Panels received 193 submissions. The Standing Committee must consider all relevant submissions before…

Sometimes it’s the small things…. Tonight there is a meeting at MVCC to consider Kindergartens in Moonee Ponds, lane closures, and live…
Last Tuesday I didn’t manage a Blog post. I was just too exhausted. I had been at VCAT for two days trying to help residents oppose a plan for a 4 storey building at 177A Mt Alexander Rd. It was gruelling. VCAT is a strange place to resolve planning matters. Although I am not sure…
‘The blog’ will cover tonight’s MVCC monthly public forum from 6pm tonight. A presentation on Family Day Care is on the agenda.
